Where is the nearest Supermarket?
There is a small grocery store in Canyamel, however you will find a large Eroski supermarket in either Capdepera (7km) or Manacor (20km). There is a smaller Eroski in the main street of Arta which sells meat and seafood.

Directions to the Eroski Supermarket in Capdepera.
Go past the Torre de Canyamel, (the castle tower) on your right and at the next roundabout turn right following signs to Cala Rajada and Capdepera.
Keep following the signs to Cala Rajada you will go over several roudabouts. After the roundabout with the boat you will see a signpost go to the next roundabout and take the first exit to Capdepera. You will see the supermarket on your left. Open seven days a week but NOT Sunday afternoon.

There is a Lidl too.
Follow the above directions but at the last roundabout take the third exit instead of the first and you will see the Lidl car park in front of you.

Where is the nearest Bank and Cashpoint?
The easiest place now for a bank and cashpoint is Arta. There is a plan for a cashpoint in Canyamel but nothing has happened yet?!!

Where is the nearest Pharmacy?
There is a good Pharmacy in Canyamel.

Where is the nearest beach?
Canyamel is the nearest beach, a forty five minute wlak or a 6-7 minute drive.

What other beaches are good to go to?
Besides Canyamel’s own beach there is a small beach at Cala Rotja at the bottom of the hill by the restaurant of the same name. Then there is:-
Es Carregador situated 5km out of Cala Rajada which consists of four coves.
Sa Font de sa Cala, Cala Agulla, Cala Gat, Cala Torta, Los Pinos Beach and Port Vell. All are well signposted. There is a booklet in the tray on the main table in the villa that tells you about secluded beaches near Arta.

How do I get to Canyamel?
Drive or walk down the hill through the ‘gates’ that mark the entrance to Costa Canyamel and to the roundabout with the fountains go straight across and down the slight rise and turn right and follow the road in to Canyamel.

Do I have to park in the car port?
It is advisable as the roads are quite narrow

Can we play racket ball on the court?
Yes of course, there are bats and balls in the wardrobe of the upstairs double bedroom.

Is it ok to leave windows open at night?
Yes of course but we recommend you keep mosquito nets shut.

Are there mosquitos?
At the warmest times of the year there can be some mosquitos.

We recommend you buy a Bloom electric mosquito killer. You can get these from Eroski supermarket and they do the refills for them too, the pharmacist is best for sprays to protect you outside at night and creams for bites you suffer too. The Bloom electric repellent must be plugged in before bed. Left in through the night and then unplugged in the morning.

What do I do with all the rubbish/garbage?
There are bins halfway down the hill towards Canyamel. These are for re-cycling bottles etc. Please remove rubbish regularly from the villa and never leave it outside otherwise Cats and birds will get to it.

Can I smoke at the villa?
Yes you can smoke outside only.

Is the pool heated?
No it isn’t heated. It is cleaned once a week generally on a Friday.

Can I dive in to the pool?
We advise you to jump in but not to dive in? Or even better use the steps.

Is there free Wifi?

My mobile doesn’t work! How can I get a signal?
There is no signal in the villa please refer to our ‘in house’ technology page.
